Scott Clubine was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome in August of 2014. His symptoms became so dire that he was Lifeflighted from Fayetteville, AR to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City. After being on the ventilator for three and a half weeks they made the choice to come to Madonna in Lincoln for ongoing therapy.
Scott and his family were introduced to Ben Yelkin and became the family for Running Down GBS’s 2014 efforts. At Scott’s request, the majority of the funds raised in 2014 were donated to the Madonna Foundation to help patients with GBS at Madonna.
While Scott was at Madonna he spent his time in recovering, but also lifting the spirits of those around him. He was selected as a Madonna GOAL Award winner in 2014 for his positive attitude during his stay.
Scott is back to work full time and continues to improve at home in Arkansas.
